Kevin Arseneau is one of ten worldwide chosen to participate in a prestigious parliamentarian course
FREDERICTON – MLA for Kent North Kevin Arseneau is one of ten young parliamentarians from the Francophonie who has been chosen to participate in the “Diplomacy, globalization and Francophonie” course at Senghor University in Alexandria, Egypt.
“I am honoured to be the only Parliamentarian from North America chosen to participate in this prestigious course and the first Acadian to be selected,” said Arseneau. “I look forward to learning new skills when it comes to problem solving of complex issues and negotiating, and then applying those skills to my work as an MLA and parliamentarian to solve the complex issues of our time like climate change, trust in democratic institutions and challenges due to Artificial Intelligence.”
“I have always valued and encouraged lifelong learning, and this is a rare opportunity for parliamentarians to gain valuable skills, discuss important global issues that have local impacts here in New Brunswick and make connections with other parliamentarians from around the world,” added Arseneau.
The course will take place from May 26 through June 14. As one of the successful applicants, the cost of Arseneau’s training, accommodation, meals, and internal travel will be covered by the program and his flights will be covered by the Assemblée parlementaire de la Francophonie.
