It was a pleasure to host my winter round of community gatherings in Lincoln, Lincoln Heights, Skyline Acres/Southwood Park, the East Plat/Downtown, and Bishop Drive/Lian-Valcourt during the months of January and February. Unfortunately, the East Plat/Downtown meeting coincided with a snowstorm, but the turnout at the other gatherings was great.
Thank you to all who could make it – your input is so important and helpful. My second round of community gatherings will be held this fall with details to come. Please email me at david.coon@gnb.ca if you would like to be notified of these community gatherings.
Lincoln Heights
Inadequate Bus Service: I raised this with the mayor and transit manager in my meeting with them. They have announced plans for a bus-on-demand system, details to come.
School Bus Unreliability: I spoke with the Anglophone West Superintendent about the school bus cancellations in Lincoln Heights and he informed me they were in the process of hiring an additional driver for that route.
Waitlist for a Doctor: I have been in touch with Horizon Health to learn about plans for the expansion of the Northside Community Health Centre into a collaborative care clinic, designed to ultimately take everyone on the northside off the wait list. I am working to see a similar Community Health Centre established on the southside.
