Fredericton – MLA for Fredericton South and Leader of the Green Party of New Brunswick, David Coon, issued the following statement in recognition of Remembrance Day on Sunday, November 11, 2018:
“This year we recognise the 100th anniversary of signing of the armistice to end World War I, on November 11th, 1918. More than 650,000 Canadians served. Over 66,000 gave their lives.
“Today we remember all the brave service men and women who have died serving during times of peace and conflict. We remember their families and their sacrifice.
“To those we lost in Afghanistan and all the Canadians who have gone before, as well as those they left behind, we remember.
“Today I encourage all New Brunswickers to participate in Remembrance Day ceremonies in their communities.”
