Palliative care is an important component of the continuum of care, and it currently does not receive sufficient attention, funding and resources from the provincial government. This week, Megan tabled a motion calling on the government to improve and properly fund palliative care services. This includes :
- The implementations of the Five Strategic Pillars, actions plans, policies, programs and services, and on the status of the New Brunswick Palliative Care Advisory Committee by December 31, 2021.
- The implementations of the Five Strategic Pillars, actions plans, policies, programs and services, and on the status of the New Brunswick Palliative Care
- Resources to ensure the provision of palliative care in the home as well as in long-term care facilities and to increase staffing, equipment and resources to enable hospices to enhance their community capacity,
- Strengthening support for family caregivers, especially in bereavement, and to educate and communicate to New Brunswickers the resources available in the community.
