MLA Megan Mitton tables motion to improve and fund palliative care services.

Palliative care is an important component of the continuum of care, and it currently does not receive sufficient attention, funding and resources from the provincial government. This week, Megan tabled a motion calling on the government to improve and properly fund palliative care services. This includes :

  • The implementations of the Five Strategic Pillars, actions plans, policies, programs and services, and on the status of the New Brunswick Palliative Care Advisory Committee by December 31, 2021.
  • The implementations of the Five Strategic Pillars, actions plans, policies, programs and services, and on the status of the New Brunswick Palliative Care
  • Resources to ensure the provision of palliative care in the home as well as in long-term care facilities and to increase staffing, equipment and resources to enable hospices to enhance their community capacity,
  • Strengthening support for family caregivers, especially in bereavement, and to educate and communicate to New Brunswickers the resources available in the community.
